Mayor Mitch Panciuk cuts the ribbon to open the new disc golf course in Riverside Park
Mayor Mitch Panciuk and members of city staff cut the ribbon today on a new disc golf course on and around 401 hill in Riverside Park.
Ever since Belleville hosted the Ontario Disc Golf Championships at East Zwick’s Park on a temporary course, the disc golf community has been asking for a permanent course.
“We’ve been looking at trying to increase the amount of outdoor amenities,” said Mayor Panciuk. “It’s one more thing we get to offer residents in Belleville.”
The 18 hole course was designed in 2021 with the assistance of Prodigy Disc Golf and the Belleville Disc Golf Club.
The course was approved for construction as part of the 2022 capital budget deliberations.
