This weekend marks the opening of the Faylor Lake Disc Golf Park

BEAVER SPRINGS – The Snyder County’s Faylor Lake facility is now home to a new disk golf course and will host a major national tournament this week. Faylor Lake Disc Golf Park in Beaver Springs is hosting its first disc throw and opening ceremony on Friday at 2:30 pm

Snyder County Commissioner Joe Kantz said the course was designed by PDGA pro Steve Braud and local disc golf enthusiast Lee Zimmerman: the fastest growing and most anticipated course in Pennsylvania. “

Kantz said: “It’s a championship-level 18-hole course. The view and vibe are second to none, with huge differences in elevation. You can allow at least three hours to fully enjoy this great brand new course. “

Kantz said the park will host the Faylor Lake Fall Classic Pro-Am this Saturday. He said Valley residents could stop by to see the tournament, which attracts players from across Pennsylvania and the surrounding states. Kantz said it will be a win for Snyder County as the players will bring more business to the area: “That is exactly the point with this whole creation of the disc golf course. It will bring people to our area who enjoy the beautiful Snyder County’s surroundings, but it also gives the Snyder County’s people something great. ”

Kantz added that Faylor Lake will host its annual Fossil Dig in the slate quarry at the lake’s west end on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
