PANAMA CITY, Florida (WJHG / WECP) – Majette Park’s disc golf course is a project that Bay County Parks and Recreation has been working on for the past two years.
Parks and Recreation officials said the course was initially over 80 acres and was nearly impossible to maintain. The course has now been redesigned to around 30 hectares and is open to beginners and professional disc golfers.
“If you’re interested in the course, you know you can just stop by,” said Travis Barbee, Parks and Recreation Division manager. “If one day you’re here to walk and say, man, we want to try three holes, come to our office. We’ll lend you a disc and hopefully you’ll bring it back and maybe develop a love for the game. “
The course is free to the public.
The Bay County Disc Golf Club is hosting a disc golf tournament in the park on Saturday, attended by approximately 90 people.
