TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – The city of Tallahassee was recently recognized for having the state’s top disc golf course for 2021.
The 24-hole golf course at Tom Brown Park beat golf courses in Central and South Florida for top honors for the second year running.
This is the second year that UDisc’s online trading blog Release Point has rated disc golf courses.
For the second year, the trade blog chose “The 5 Best Disc Golf Courses” in each state.
East of the city, Tom Brown Park is one of two disc golf courses managed by the city’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs.
The other location is Jack L. McLean Jr. Park. Both parks have different elevation changes, which is unusual for Florida terrain.
Nine of the holes at Tom Brown Park are played through wooded areas, while the remaining holes are in open areas with large oak and pine trees lining the fairways.
There are also some off-limits areas to add interest.
The Jack McLean Park golf course meanders through mature trees and offers an extra challenge for the more experienced player. Leagues and other organizations host competitive events at both locations.
Courses at Tom Brown Park beat courses in Clermont, Jacksonville, Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale.
