AKRON – Steve Stricker goes into the second round of the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship after a strong start.

His 7-under 63 gives him a 4-shot lead before going into action on Friday. He tees off in first place at 11:25 a.m. in a group that includes defending champion Jerry Kelly.

Bridgestone Senior Players Championship ticket information

General admission ticket prices for the tournament range from $ 10 to $ 20, with entry free after 4pm daily if space permits. Children up to 18 years of age have free entry when accompanied by an adult with an admission ticket.

All active and retired military personnel and their dependents receive free entry as well as veterans. First aiders (police, fire brigade, rescue service) receive free entry with the kind permission of FIRE-DEX.

Once approved, tournament officials require participants to adhere to social distancing guidelines throughout the golf course, which is more than 150 acres. Spectators are allowed to bring their own folding chairs as no grandstands will be built for the event. Other health and safety measures will be in place across the site, including hand sanitizing stations and a change in traffic flow for spectators in certain areas.

How to watch the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship on TV

The Golf Channel reports on the entire tournament, only the last two rounds are broadcast live on the channel.

Tonight’s second round will air on Friday at 7pm on The Golf Channel. The last two rounds on Saturday and Sunday will be broadcast live on The Golf Channel every day from 3 p.m.

Summer party in Firestone

In addition to golf, the Firestone Country Club has plenty of food and music this week to celebrate the start of summer. To the highlights:

Firestone apartments is located in the middle of the square near the 13th green and 18th tee and has local food trucks

Taps at the turn A selection of beers and local snacks from the Firestone Country Club are available near the 9th green and 10th tee.

At home on the route Located near the driving range and # 1 tee has the Slyman’s Tavern Food Truck with unique sandwiches.

Concerts after the game will feature various musical acts after the last three rounds of the tournament.

Which band is playing the Firestone Country Club’s Concert After Play today?

Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. is The Sunrise Jones (house band for the Cleveland NFL Draft, who played Beatles hits and favorites from the 80s and 90s). Saturday 6-8.30pm is The Shootouts (Akron country band that attracted national attention with the release of their second album Bullsye in April). On Sundays from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm, the Akron Symphony Orchestra plays a program of family-friendly, patriotic concert music
