Friends were back at the 'Swing' - Lowell Sun.

The sun finally came out strong, hot and steamy on July 14th, especially for the Friends of Dana Farber who had a glamorous and unique outdoor affair “Back in the Swing” on pristine Stone Meadow Golf in Lexington.

More than 130 golfers enjoyed an abundance of delicious snacks and finger food, cocktail specialties such as the Classic Pimm’s Cup and Arnold Palmer, the sleek driving range, putting chipping, contests, golf professionals teach on site, a photo session on a shiny Vespa (one of the many auction items ) and much more.

The Friends of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is now celebrating its amazing 45th anniversary and has raised more than $ 41 million to fund cancer research and patient care programs at Dana-Farber.

They exemplify the power of Friends through their dual mission: to raise funds to support research, patient services, women’s cancer programs and oncology grants, and to provide services that improve Dana-Farber’s healing environment, including gift bags for patients in treatment World-class art collection, non-denominational spiritual health programs, and programs that make patients and families easier.

That single event raised $ 176,000. Stay tuned as the friends host their popular In the Bag event, a curated auction of luxury handbags and accessories, on September 23 at the Pine Brook Country Club in Weston.
