An early morning fire has temporarily closed The Links Shell Cove and The Tavern at Shell Cove. Rural Fire Department District Officer David Bartlett said three RFS brigade crews and six NSW fire and ambulances, as well as the NSW ambulance and police, rushed to the scene on Saturday at 1:15 a.m. in response to an automatic fire alarm . “When the first device arrived, they noticed smoke was coming out of the building,” said Bartlett. “They went in and found the fire was down in the garage where they keep the golf carts.” The fire was quickly extinguished in the garage area, which makes up about 20 percent of the building. In the rest of the building, however, there was smoke damage. “Nobody was in the building at the time. At this time there is also no access to the golf course, mini golf or driving range. No one has been injured and both staff and guests are safe. We will keep everyone informed on social issues Media.” Mr Bartlett said it initially appears that the fire broke out in one of the golf carts but an investigation is ongoing. “We had our fire investigator present this morning,” he said.
