A villager was tracked down at his home and arrested after an apparent argument over speeding in the golf cart.

Ronald Joseph McKean, 78, was arrested last Friday at his home at 162 Palermo Place in the village of Valle Verde for battery, burglary and theft.

A villager was driving his orange and white Yamaha golf cart from 2017 on Palermo Place that day when McKean, who had been standing on his property, yelled at the man in the golf cart to “slow down”. The man in the golf cart drove to the driving range on Rolling Acres Road, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

He was standing on the driving range platform when McKean pulled up his golf cart and walked towards him. McKean began using swear words and became “aggressive,” the report said. During his tirade, McKean projected saliva onto the other man. The native New Yorker then inhaled and “deliberately” released fluid from his mouth into the other man’s facial area.

McKean went to the other man’s golf cart and took the keys from the ignition. He used profanity again and then yelled at the other man, “Now you have no keys.” Then he threw the keys in the grass and left the driving range.

An officer went to McKean’s house and found him in the driveway. He admitted taking the keys from the other man’s golf cart. He was arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail. He was released after depositing a $ 7,000 bond.

A policeman helped the other man look for his keys on the driving range, but they couldn’t find them.
