Bill Murray is now the newest Hollywood native to land in Ireland to film an upcoming project, after the likes of Florence Pugh, Patrick Dempsey and Matt Damon.

The Groundhog Day actor arrived on Emerald Isle in the past few days to direct the next season of The Links of Life golf series.

Bill and co-host Tom Coyne will play some of the best golf courses in Ireland as part of the YouTube documentary series.

The Links of Life is supported by Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland to put Ireland first ‘in the minds of future visitors from the US and around the world’.

Commenting on Bill’s visit, Tourism Ireland General Manager Niall Gibbons said: “We are delighted to be supporting the filming of The Links Life with Bill Murray.

“It’s a really great way to showcase Ireland and some of our top golf courses. Our goal is to remind viewers that Ireland has some of the best golf courses in the world, as well as spectacular scenery and fantastic experiences. ‘

As Bill travels from course to course, Little Women star Florence Pugh is filming an upcoming thriller called The Wonder in Wicklow, set in the Irish Midlands.

Elizabeth Banks has also shared her love for Ireland in the past few weeks when she begins filming her film Cocaine Bear.

Both actresses regularly share their experiences working on our rolling green hills with fans.

This comes as the cast of Disenchanted finalizes filming on the Disney sequel – though Patrick Dempsey isn’t quite ready to say goodbye just yet.
