In the world of branding announcements, we applaud gamers (and companies) for getting creative with their new offerings. That’s what Bubba Watson did on Tuesday, announcing that he is a new ambassador for lifestyle clothing brand Linksoul (he will reveal his new look when he makes his season debut at Torrey Pines this week).

Watson posted a hilarious review post on Instagram to celebrate the new partnership with side-by-side images of how he dressed as an amateur golfer compared to today. We’re not going to knock off his vintage red plus four golf pants or the ultra-patriotic look, but his all-black hoodie look from 2021 seems a little more trendy and comfortable for the now 42-year-old golfer. Watson previously wore Oakley clothing.
The casual golf apparel brand, co-founded by John Ashworth, is known for its charitable initiatives and for making versatile and comfortable apparel. Linksoul’s most recent project raised over $ 160,000 for the COVID-19 Direct Relief Fund. The southern California-based brand was also influential in a campaign to keep a local urban golf course, Goat Hill Park, from closing. Since then, the course has been a symbol of accessible golf and an access point for young golfers to learn the game.
