Children and families invited to the SO COOL Zone by Southern Company from September 1-5 for interactive experiences inspired by First Tee’s mission
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida & ATLANTA, Georgia (August 17, 2021) – The First Tee Game Changers Pavilion, an interactive experience inspired by First Tee’s mission to empower young people to become game changers in their communities, will be on the TOUR 2021 debut championship, 1st-5th September, in the SO COOL Zone of the Southern Company.
The First Tee Game Changers Pavilion is made possible by Southern Company, the Education Patron of First Tee, who has been helping to expand the First Tee School Program to communities across the country since 2012.
The 1,200-square-foot, air-conditioned space will bring to life what it means to be a game changer, and connect the youngsters participating in the tournament with the excitement and personal influence that comes with golf and golf courses across the country First tea programs are linked.
Highlights of the immersive experience include an Aim for Greatness digital video board and Make an Impact wall of paint, which provide practical ways to swing a golf club in an environment that allows children to take on challenges and work together to achieve something create beautiful.
Attendees can also snap a photo in a life-size replica of the First Tee logo. The logo, a metaphor for growth advice, encourages visitors to think about role models who played an important role in their growth path and tag them on their social media posts. Children are invited to round off their visit with a SO COOL snow cone. Daily competitions with prizes such as golf clothing and junior golf sets from First Tee partners such as Adidas Golf, Bridgestone Golf, FootJoy and GolfGen are raffled off daily.

As the tournament welcomes fans back to East Lake Golf Club this year, the TOUR Championship has reintroduced its Youth Ticket Program, which allows two (2) youths under the age of 15 per adult ticket to enter the PGA for free TOURS to receive The best players compete for the FedExCup.
On Thursday morning of the tournament, the HOPE Tee Shot honors two First Tee – Metro Atlanta participants – Marcus Leonard and Tatum Thompson – in a special ceremony on the first tee, just minutes before the first tee of the TOUR championship. The tee is a symbol and reminder of the hope that continues to grow throughout the East Lake community as a result of the East Lake Foundation’s revitalization efforts.
