The 43rd Ryder Cup takes place this week for the first time since 2016 in Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, USA.
To mark the occasion, Captain Steve Stricker and the rest of Team USA are wearing uniforms by the famous American designer Ralph Lauren for the fourth time in a row.
Known for its classic designs, the Official Outfitter will furnish the team with parts that represent the official patriotic colors of the United States: red, white and blue.
Team Europe wears uniforms from the Italian fashion brand Loro Piana.
Here’s a quick look and breakdown of both teams’ uniforms.
Team USA shines in Ralph Lauren
While Stricker may still be setting up the line-up for Team USA, everyone from the players to the caddies will be draped in Ralph Lauren.

According to Averee Dovsek from Golfweek, the collection will contain a “capsule full of polo golf and RLX golf apparel” with all items “with moisture-wicking properties and improved airflow in Ralph Lauren’s functional fabrics”.
Dovsek also reports that the polos “are designed to complement every swing and the pants are light and flexible.”
“I’m very excited to be part of the upcoming 2020 US Ryder Cup team,” said Davis Love III, Vice-Captain and longtime ambassador for Ralph Lauren, Janice Ferguson of Sports Illustrated. “It’s also fantastic that Ralph Lauren, my longtime partner, is delivering the uniforms again; not only do they keep creating fresh, modern designs, the pieces are always cutting-edge in terms of performance and comfort.”
Team USA will wear RLX Course designs in a variety of red, white, and blue striped colorways on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, while on Wednesday and Sunday they will wear Air Tech pique polo shirts with chest stripes.
On Saturday they wear a jacquard polo with mesh camouflage and Ryder Cup logo.
Additionally, most of the collection will include “United We Stand” and “USA20” to highlight the team.
Team Europe goes Italian
The European team’s captain, Padraig Harrington, has worked with Italian manufacturer Loro Piana to create the uniforms it will wear in Whistling Straits this week.

Players as well as the support team apply the designs on and off the golf course.
“As the captain, I want the players to be as comfortable as possible throughout the week of the Ryder Cup, and Loro Piana clothing is an important part of that,” Harrington told Golf Business News.
Most of the line will be made of waterproof pieces and use a special woven wind microfiber that uses a three-layer technique.
