There were some good rounds of early starters in the 50th anniversary event, including a 7-under 64 from Kevin Tway and a 6-under 65 from Cameron Percy. Patton Kizzire is 5 under by 16 holes.
The front runners have tied off and 54-hole front runner Sebastian Munoz opened with a bogey in 1st place and fell back to 15-under.
Brandon Hagy leads with 16-under, followed by a foursome from Ryan Moore, Cameron Champ, Scott Brown and Munoz with 15-under.
Still everyone’s game on a wet deere run!
And that includes Harold Varner III (4-under for his round and 13-under for the tournament), who found out this morning he was getting a spot in the next week’s Open Championship when Bubba Watson complained about COVID-19 tracking issues withdrew.
10:30 am – Welcome to a cold, damp final day of the 50th John Deere Classic Golf Tournament.
The rainy weather didn’t slow things down much at the TPC Deere Run this morning, just changed the process a little. Due to the wet conditions in the quad cities, PGA Tour officials called prior to the round to allow players to have the ball in hand during the round. This allows for relief from standing water and also allows them to clean their golf balls before hitting them to ease “mud balls” from the fairways.
