After the market launch in September, the Topgolf location in Albuquerque was sold to an unknown buyer.

Real estate agent Marcus & Millichap announced the transaction but did not disclose the buyer or the selling price. Several representatives from the Phoenix office, which was representing the buyer, were unavailable for comment Tuesday.

Topgolf, which operates air-conditioned sports entertainment complexes where customers play a variety of games using microchip golf balls, opened its 25,525-square-foot facility in Albuquerque in February after years of construction and delays related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Located at 1600 Desert Surf Circle NE, the facility is the first of the Texas-based entertainment company in New Mexico.

A package of incentives for cities and counties totaling US $ 4.3 million supported the development. Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller vetoed the city’s incentive package before the city council lifted the veto in August 2018, according to previous journal reports.

In September, the property was listed on the LoopNet real estate website for $ 16 million.

Topgolf spokeswoman Kara Barry told the Journal in an email on Monday that the Albuquerque site was still open and operational and the company had no plans to close the venue.
