CASPER, Wyoming (Wyoming News Now) – The sun came out for community members to enjoy four-person scramble style golf. This tournament at Paradise Valley Golf Club was designed to raise funds for the Wyoming Heroes Fund.
A Wyoming Life Flight Helicopter appeared during the course. Golfers bought golf balls to throw out of the helicopter to win prizes. Money golfers who are paid to play and by the golf balls go to the Wyoming Heroes Fund. This money can help a first responder and their family if they are injured or killed at work.
Tiffany Elhart, a member of Fraternal Order of Police number six, said some of the funds raised last year have been used. “We are happy that we had the money and were able to help them through a difficult time in their lives,” said Elhart.
There were over 100 teams of four players and Elhart added that it was great to see everyone there support the cause. “The Casper Congregation gathers around all of the first responders we have blessed to live in Casper,” said Elhart.
The off duty officers came for fun and those on duty were invited. “It’s been very busy the past few weeks, and that’s not good in our industry,” said Elhart.
An event manager reminded golfers to have fun and remember the matter.
