The new Titleist Pro V1 and V1x Golf balls included Radar Acquisition Technology (RCT) for the first time.
Developed and maintained by Titleist R&D engineers and further validated by a team of TrackMan Experts developed the new technology to improve the data acquisition of indoor launch conditions.
The Titleist team believes this will help provide the most accurate information possible and improve the experience for interior fitting specialists.
Trainers and instructors can better assess what equipment golfers need, while touring professionals are rewarded with more detailed information.
Jeremey Stein, Vice President, Titleist Golf Ball Marketing, commented, “The Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x RCT golf balls combine the best combination of speed, spin and feel with new technology that more consistently captures the precision performance and golf ball data of the Trackman units in use. in an interior. “
He added, “We have been working closely with TrackMan for more than two years to optimize this patent-pending integrated radar reflection technology. The result is a reliably strong ‘signal’ that enables spin capture with all shots. “
TrackMan works alongside Titleist and is excited about the collaboration and possible future endeavors.
“We are excited to be working with Achusnet on the launch of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x RCT golf balls,” said TrackMan CEO and Co-Founder KLaus Eldrup-Jorgensen.
“Titleist is a brand that goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure the superior quality and performance of its products and that reflects TrackMan’s approach to technology, innovation and development.”
While the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x RCT share the same design, quality, and performance as the Pro V1 and Pro V1x, it is the enhanced benefit of indoor radar signal acquisition that sets it apart from the former.
The RCT models do not require reflective spin markers or precise alignment as they only benefit from indoor and seasonal golf courses that use TrackMan simulation.
Testing the RCT models has shown that 99% signal capture represents true spin, resulting in further accuracy and an increased overall distance calculation.
In addition, RCT has allowed TrackMan to improve the spin detection algorithm, which requires less ball flight to measure the actual amount of spin, which benefits both high ball speed and low spin rate.
Finally, the RCT models are legally compliant with USGA and R&A regulations.
The Pro V1 and Pro V1x RCT golf balls will be available from authorized Titleist retail partners in Great Britain from autumn 2021 – global sales are planned for April 2022.
