The Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA], in partnership with PGA Magazine and the Ellison Consulting Group, will host the first Black Golfers Week November 3-7.
A spokesperson said: “As part of a new initiative to promote diversity in tourism and sporting events, the Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA], in partnership with PGA Magazine and Ellison Consulting Group, is celebrating Bermuda’s rich black golf heritage with its inaugural Black Golfers Week of socially conscious events from November 3-7 following the PGA TOUR Bermuda Championship. Bermuda’s famous golf courses will be the main venues where 24 teams will compete for the Black Golf Club trophy and the Team Championship. “
“We look forward to welcoming visitors to our island for this historic opening event that honors Bermuda’s golfing heritage and provides an action-packed platform for diversity, equity and inclusivity. There are more golf courses per square mile on our island than anywhere else in the world. That fact, coupled with a story that includes groundbreaking achievements by Bermuda golfers who helped break the color line in the US and Canada, is a natural home for this inaugural event, ”said Charles H.
