BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS HOT AUGUST HOOPS TOURNEY – The Lewis Clark Valley Boys and Girls Clubs will host their Hot August Hoops 3-on-3 basketball tournament for third-grade through adult teams on August 28th. The cost is $ 150 per team, with the entry deadline on Friday. Classes 3-12 teams must register at the Lewiston Club, 1021 Burrell Ave., between 1:30 pm and 5:30 pm on weekdays. KYRO YOUTH FALL REGISTRATIONS – The Kooskia Youth Recreation Organization will hold its youth soccer and cheerleading registrations on Friday from 6pm to 6.45pm at the Clearwater Valley High School Arcade. The programs offered are tackle football for grades 3-4, 5-6 and cheerleading for grades 3-6. The cost is $ 50 for cheerleading and includes pompoms and $ 75 for soccer. LC VALLEY DOWN AND DIRTY MUD RUN – The LC Valley Down and Dirty Mud Run takes place on Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Lewiston Roundup Grounds. The event is partly cross-country and partly obstacle course for all age groups. Runners can test their skills on 14 obstacles on a 2.8-mile or 4-mile course. There is also a mini mudder course for children. The cost is $ 49 for the two longer courses and $ 24 for the mini mudder. The proceeds will go to local charities. FOOTBALL OFFICIALS NEEDED – The Southeastern Washington Football Officials Association is actively recruiting those interested in running junior high and high school football games. The next training session will take place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Health Sciences Room at Pullman High School. The last meeting is scheduled for August 31st at the same time and on site. FALL SPORTS BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS REGISTRATION – Registration for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis-Clark Valley Flag Football and Fall Football League is pending. League games start on September 18th and last through October 30th. The cost is $ 60 for soccer and $ 80 for flag football. All registration fees include an annual club membership of $ 25, which runs from August through May. Registration for autumn sports closes on Wednesday, but there is a one-week late registration period from Wednesday to September. 1 and includes a $ 15 late fee. PALOUSE SKI CLUB EVENT – The Palouse Divide Nordic Ski Club is hosting a “Pubbin ‘in the Patio” social event associated with the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute and live bluegrass music from August 27th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

FUTURE STARS TENNIS CLINIC – The Lewiston, Clarkston and Lewis-Clark State College coaching team will be running three free tennis classes for grades 6-8 players. The event will be an introduction to the sport by playing games and performing a variety of exercises. The school principals are available on site to answer any questions. The training sessions will take place on Saturday and August 28th from 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. The event will take place on Saturday at the Lewis-Clark State Tennis Center and on August 28 at Lewiston High School. LCSC NATIVE AMERICAN ALUMNI GOLF TOURNAMENT – The 12th annual golf tournament of the Native American Alumni Chapter takes place on August 28th at 8.30 a.m. at the Red Wolf Golf Club with a shotgun start. The cost is $ 85 per person, including entry and green fees, lunch, drinks, gift bags, and a cart. Hole sponsorships are available for $ 250 and include tournament entry fees, draws, mulligans and a takeaway meal for players. A platinum sponsorship is available for $ 550, which includes all player costs, carts, side games, drawings, mulligans and a takeaway meal for the players along with the name mentioned in an advertisement. WARRIOR GOLF CLASSIC – The Warrior Athletic Association’s 15th Annual Golf Classic will be a scramble for four starting with a shotgun on August 29th at 1:00 pm at Lewiston Golf & Country Club. The cost is $ 100 per player and includes green fees, a sack lunch, a post-tournament BBQ, two drink cards, an individual mulligan and discount prices. Cars are not included and must be reserved in advance by calling (208) 746-2801. The scramble will use an adjusted team handicap to determine the score. Proceeds from the event will go to scholarships for student athletes at Lewis-Clark State College. LAB DAY COUPLES TOURNAMENT – Red Wolf Golf Club in Clarkston will be running its Labor Day couples tournament September 3rd through 5th, with a shotgun start on September 4th and 5th at 9am. CLARKSTON, LEWISTON ALUMNI GIRLS ‘SOCCER GAME – An alumni game between former Clarkston and Lewiston girls soccer team players will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Clarkston High School on September 10th after the scheduled high school game between the two Teams take place. RUN-WALK MARCH – Moscow Elks Lodge 249 will host a run-walk march on September 11th at 8:30 am to commemorate the 20th anniversary of September 11th at Elks Golf Course. The event begins with the 5K race of the First Responder’s Challenge. At 9 a.m. there will be a 5 km commemorative run around the golf course. A march into Moscow city center begins at 10 a.m., where a closing ceremony will be held at the Slice Taphouse. Registration is free, but a donation of € 25 would be very welcome. The proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Services and biomedical services for our region.
