The very first Black Cat Fun Run supports a kitten place

Local Cat Rescue A Kitten Place invites you to take part in their first Black Cat Fun Run to offset part of the cost of the rescue work. In 2020, A Kitten Place rescued 419 cats and kittens, spayed / neutered over 50 feral / stray cats and kittens, and spent $ 22,000 on food, litter, and other supplies.

The Fun Run takes place on Saturday, October 30th at 8:30 am at the Twin Lakes Neighborhood Park in Brandon, and you can choose between a 3-mile run or a family-friendly 1-mile walk. There will also be a costume competition and a 50/50 raffle.

Market day and auto shows return to FishHawk Ranch

The FishHawk Ranch Market will be at Cross Park at 16144 Churchside Dr. Return in Lithia (across from Park Square) May 2022 and feature over 50 unique vendors selling handcrafted and homemade items.

There is also a car show on the same day at the Palmetto Club at 17004 Dorman Road. Lithia, next to Cross Park, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Visit https://fhrcarshow.eventbrite.com to register for the event; space is limited. There are no fees for spectators.

Chill Cawfee organizes Oktoberfest

Chill Cawfee at 3407 Lithia Pinecrest Rd. In Valrico is hosting an Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 9th, 11 am-4pm. The event includes music, outdoor games, competitions and a burger cook-off.

Great children’s golf tournament coming soon

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon is hosting its annual Terrific Kids Golf Tournament on Thursday October 7th at Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club in Valrico. This year marks the event’s 20th anniversary and space is limited to the first 100 players.

The Kiwanis Club is a global organization of volunteers working to make the world a better place one child at a time, running several programs in the region, including Terrific Kids in 26 elementary schools, Key Clubs in six high schools, the Project Smile nutrition program, and Kiwanis Kicks (shoes for needy children). Several levels of corporate sponsorship as well as prizes for the top three, the longest drive and proximity to the hole are available for the event.

Celebrate the end of summer with the Bier Fest

During the fourth year of the Beer Festival in Busch Gardens, guests can enjoy seasonal beverage offers and try new recipes with popular breweries. Beer flows through the park on a brand new beer trail that meanders between iconic coasters, local live music and fascinating animal habitats, while integrating restaurants and culinary outdoor stations, including the new Giraffe Bar. Several festival locations offer non-alcoholic drinks, including a watermelon agua fresca to provide cool refreshment on hot summer days.

Beer Festival in Busch Gardens takes place every Friday through Sunday through Sunday October 31st.

Bingo returns to St. Stephen’s Catholic Church

Catholic Church of St. Stephen, at 10118 St. Stephen Cir. in Riverview is pleased to announce the return of bingo to its Family Life Center.

The event, which will take place every fourth Tuesday of the month from September 28th, starts at 6.30pm. Admission is from 5.30 p.m. and a snack stand is available for refreshments. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and the proceeds of the evening will help needy families in the ward and church groups like St. Vincent de Paul.

Summerfield Women’s Golf Association is looking for league players

The Summerfield Women’s Golf Association (SWGA) begins its annual 18-hole league game on Tuesday, October 5th. Its purpose is to promote the game of golf among women, encourage good sportsmanship and friendships, and create an interest in improving the average game of golf. Membership is open to all women aged 18 and over with amateur status; You don’t need to be a Summerfield Golf Club membership to play.

The league is made up of players of all skill levels and plays a variety of games that are fun and challenging for everyone. Tee times are Tuesday morning at 8:00 AM at Summerfield Crossings Golf Club, 13050 Summerfield Blvd. in river view.

Bunco fundraiser at The Bridges Clubhouse

Kappa Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi hosted on Thursday September 30th at 6:30 p.m. at The Bridges Clubhouse, 11202 Dewhurst Dr. in Riverview, a night of fun, community and prizes. The Bunco night “Kids Depend on People” is open to all adults aged 18 and over and includes snacks, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and desserts. Tickets to the event are priced at $ 20 per person and the proceeds will go to Kappa Delta Phi’s Kids Depend on People initiatives.
