Golf has long been considered an elitist sport reserved for wealthy men who have the time. However, there is hope that a growing desire for gender-neutral t-shirts will break this stereotype and attract more women for the greens.
An English club that was the youngest club to introduce the teeing off system which it hopes will help keep the game focused on “skill” and “enjoyment”.
On Sunday, Hartford Golf Club announced, along with a growing number of clubs, that it would abandon the tradition of teeing off men and women from different positions. Instead, players are invited to choose tea boxes based on their distance and skill level.
Those who regularly shoot more than 100 are encouraged to leave the reds, below 100 the yellows,
