Lois Jean Wiles Glass, 94 of 220 years old, Lady Astor Place, Danville, Virginia, died at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

She was born on November 8, 1926 in Ringgold, Virginia, to the late William Arvin Wiles and Thelma Compton Wiles.

She was married to high school sweetheart Bruce Wallace Glass on February 1, 1946. Bruce preceded her in death in October 2015.

She leaves behind two daughters, Jean Glass Morris and Jane Glass Gilbert, both from Danville; Granddaughter Elizabeth Rae Prickett (Joshua Prickett) from Aiken, SC and great-granddaughter Emmerson Grace Prickett. She was preceded in death by her sister Rachel Wiles Dalton from Danville. She leaves behind three nephews, Michael Dalton (Melinda), Alan Dalton (Pat) of Danville and Ron Glass of Greensboro, NC, and two nieces, Cheryl Dalton Merricks (David) of Danville and Kathy Glass Hunt (Jerry) of Cascade. Va. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Dan River High School, Ringgold, Virginia, and Phillips Business College of Lynchburg, Virginia. She loved working in public and was an accountant who had worked for several automobile wholesalers, most recently for Danville Auto Supply for more than 20 years. She also worked part-time at several tobacco auction warehouses during the auction season.

She was a member of the West Main Baptist Church and Friendship Sunday School for over 50 years. She was a member of the Women’s Golf Association at Danville Golf Club, where she played and enjoyed competitive golf. She was a member of the Danville Duplicate and Party Bridge Club.

She loved life, her family and friends, and enjoyed watching and playing an array of sports, particularly golf, and cheering for her NC State Wolfpack in college basketball.

The memorial service will take place on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the West Main Baptist Church. The funeral will take place in Mountain View Cemetery.
