KATHMANDU, September 25: The Nepal Golf Association (NGA) is organizing the Nepal Tourism Cup golf tournament in cooperation with the Nepal Tourism Board from Monday. The day of tourism marks the start of the event.
The NGA said although it plans to organize the competition every year, it was unable to organize the competition last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was not possible to accept foreign players. They won’t be here this year either, ”said Tashi Ghale, President of the NGA.
Stroke play is played on the first two days of competition between the best players from five different golf clubs. This takes place on the Gokarna Golf Course until Wednesday.
The two best players from Gokarna Club, Royal Nepal Golf Club, Himalayan Golf Club, Tribhuvan Army Golf Club and Dharan Golf Club will attend the event. On the last day of competition on Wednesday, more than 80 players from company and foreign representations are expected in Nepal.
