In light of the flooding that has left much of Abbotsford underwater, the owners of a local theme park wrote a letter to the community with a lighthearted expression of thanks and condolences.

The Wiebe family, who have owned the castle park for over 32 years, began by thanking the fans for their support and encouragement.

“We are saddened by the fighting in our community and province right now,” the letter said. “Thanks to all of the great first responders, rescuers, volunteers, and our community leaders for the incredible work that has been done to get us through this situation.”

“Our thoughts and prayers go with our neighbors on the Sumas Prairie as well as affected communities across BC at this time of loss.”

The letter then takes a “half-full” look at the situation and encourages readers to recall belief, optimism, and even moments of laughter before adding:

“We now have three underwater mini golf courses!”

“We look forward to rebuilding you and serving you as a place to switch off and enjoy! Our best wishes to you and yours, ”concludes the letter.
