Chandler Gary Thomas returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was 24 years old.

He was born on March 23, 1997 in Ogden, Utah. He attended Lakeside Elementary, West Point Jr. High, and Syracuse High School, where he graduated in 2015. He was a member of Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ and graduated from Syracuse High LDS Seminary. He received a scholarship to play golf at Spokane Community College and played two seasons. He is currently enrolled at Salt Lake Community College for a degree in business administration.

Chandler grew up playing soccer, hockey, football, basketball, and baseball, and then fell in love with golf at the age of 14. He was a great baseball catcher but decided he couldn’t afford to screw up his golf swing with baseball. He was talented at the piano and loved to entertain his cousins ​​and friends. He sang in the madrigal choir at Jr. High and had a beautiful voice. He excelled in school and was an integral part of a very successful golf team. He loved playing for and learning from his coaches, Brett Higgins and Mitch Wilcox.

Chandler loved camping and fishing and had many wonderful memories of Boy Scouts where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Chandler loved snowboarding and practiced in the back yard after building his own hills before he could start snowboarding at the resorts.

He was employed by North Davis Cabinet and previously worked at Paint Sundries Solutions and Schneiter’s Bluff Golf Course. His family is very grateful for the kindness shown to him by all of his employers.

He was a fixture on Schneiter’s bluff golf course, where he liked to play with the “old” boys every Saturday. He also loved playing the Glen Eagle Golf Course with his father and uncles on Thursdays. He is sorely missed on the courses where he leaves countless golf friends and mentors. Chandler has had the opportunity to play golf on many beautiful courses. His favorites included Torrey Pines, Bandon Dunes, Troon North in Phoenix, El Cardonal in Cabo San Lucas, and the Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima Washington.

Chandler loved hanging out with mom and dad on Sundays, watching the golf channel, and eating well. He usually watched one golf event on his cell phone and another on TV. He worked continuously on his game and tried to get better and better. He loved exercising and looking for ways to get fitter.

Chandler were preceded in death by his grandparents Gary V and Lillian Fisher. He leaves behind parents Kevin and Stephanie Thomas Clinton, sisters Avonlee Thomas of Clinton and Sayla Thomas, currently serving an LDS mission in the Atlanta Georgia North Mission, grandparents Morgan and Marjorie Thomas of Clinton, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins .

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Clinton 23rd Ward Chapel, 2206 W 2300 N, Clinton, Utah. Friends can visit family from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Friends can visit family Tuesday, August 31, 2021, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 S. 2000 W. Syracuse, Utah.
