Golf: My Drem List of Golf Courses

by | Oct 10, 2021 | Golf Courses

As golfers, we all have dream golf courses that we would love to play. The top course on my list is Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia. This golf course hosts a tournament called The Masters. I just read an article on This is about the PGA adding 12 golf courses that we golfers should add to our bucket list. One of the problems I don’t get a chance to play at Augusta National is that it is a private golf course. You can only become a member if you are invited by Augusta. After reading the list, I have selected four of the 12 golf courses that I will add to my bucket list and why I choose them. I love the game of golf that I was taught when I was five. I’ve been playing for 33 years.

Pebble Beach Golf Links

This group of golf courses is located in Pebble Beach, California. These courses have hosted many US Opens. The US Open is considered to be the hardest to win of the four majors. These courses are located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. You have a breathtaking view. When playing golf games on PlayStation, this is one of the future courses. The reason I chose this one is because it is open to the public. The man who taught me how to play the game was my uncle and this was one of the courses he wanted to play. He never had a chance either. If I get the chance to play, I’ll hit an extra tee from the 18th tee box into the sea to honor him.

Kapalau Plantation Course

This course takes place on the island of Maui, Hawaii. This is the course that will open the PGA season. Who wouldn’t want to play golf in Hawaii? This is one of the most beautiful places on planet earth. The golf course has wide open fairways, but the 18th hole will challenge even the average golfer. This is a par 73 that is nearly 7,600 yards long. Many will look at this and say that this is a long golf course. This course is on my bucket list due to its location, but just like Pebble Beach there are some lovely views.

Bethpage State Park Golf Course

The US Open were also held on this golf course. It hosted the US Open in 2002 and 2009. This is a par 71 and is considered one of the toughest golf courses in the world. There are four different golf courses in the state park. They are all color coordinated in green, yellow, blue and red. The blue course is the one that hosted the opens and is the toughest of the four. Since I saw the tour play there, I wanted to go and play there too. When I was in New York in 2015, I got off the plane and wanted to see how I get there. Unfortunately I couldn’t get there, but it’s on my bucket list.

Pinehurst No. 2

This is another hidden gem that Ben Hogan has one at a time. This course is the closest to where I live. I had a couple of friends who got to play this golf course. Like Bethpage, there are many golf courses on the property. This course is a par 70. There were men and women tournaments at amateur and professional level. This is a public square that makes it easier to play. This is on my bucket list because it is a well-known course in the States.

These four courses are one of many on my bucket list. After a second look at the list, the Reunion Resort & Golf Club is very close to my heart. This course and resort is located in Kissimmee, Florida. I stopped by many times on my trips to Walt Disney World. I hope to play these five sometime soon. Pebble Beach and Kapalua are high on the list. But I would play the other three first, ahead of Pebble and Kapalua. I enjoy golf and these courses would be fun.
