There were recently six qualifying events for the 113th Massachusetts Amateur Golf Championship, which will be played July 12-16 at the Brae Burn Country Club in West Newton.

In order for the measure. To qualify as Amateur, players must be amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf / GHIN Handicap Index on any public, private, semi-private, municipal, or non-real estate Mass Golf membership course / club of 4.4 or less.

So far 65 players have earned a place in the tournament.

Todd Ezold (Twin Hills Country Club) and Ryan Downes (GreatHorse) shot under par 70 at the Wilbraham Country Club – par 72 – on June 7th 2 to take the top spot. Douglas Parigan (Long Meadow Golf Club) also finished the round under par with a 1-Under. Both Parigan and Downes had four birdies in their rounds. Ezold finished with all pars and two birdies.

Club) 75, substitutes are Nico Ciolino (Marlborough Country Club) 76, Jim Patterson (Orchards Golf Club) 76, Jack Hester (Pleasant Valley Country Club) 76, Matthew Bailey (TPC Boston) 76, Kevin Bagge (Orchards Golf Club ) 76.

Alan Smith (Crumpin-Fox Club) 72 also qualified at the Northern Spy Golf Club.

Michael Bechard (Ludlow Country Club) 71 and Jacob Driscoll (Country Club of Pittsfield) 72 also qualified at Wahconah Country Club.Alternatives are Matthew Gilardi (Country Club of Pittsfield) 74 and Jesse Morgan (Northfield Golf Club) 74.

Qualification for mass amateurs continues later this month at the Captains Golf Course-Starboard Course in Brewster, Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro, and Fall River Country Club in Fall River.

Springfield Municipal Courses Upgrade: Following the completion of the bunker renovation project, the Franconia Golf Course and Veterans Memorial Golf Course opened for full 18-hole games on Monday.

The renovation project was completed by MAS Golf Construction, based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. MAS’s list of past golf course projects includes The Country Club at Brookline, TPC Boston, and Myopia Hunt Club.

The City of Springfield invested $ 1 million in its two municipal golf courses and implemented the Better Billy Bunker method in both locations.

“The ‘Better Billy Bunker” is the latest and greatest in bunker technology. The tees, fairways and greens were beautiful. Now we have the bunkers to complement that, ”said Ryan Hall, Chief Professional of Franconia and Veterans.

TRAVELERS 2021 News: The Travelers Championship announced the line-up for the Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am 2021, which will take place on June 23rd at the TPC River Highlands. The event marks the first day that spectators with tickets have access to the site. The following entrants include ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman, former UConn basketball coach Jim Calhoun, 1984 Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie, and retired Red Sox thrower Tim Wakefield.
