I have stayed at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa twice: once with my daughter and once with my husband, and each visit brings special moments to all of us. Here’s What To Expect When You Visit, And Why You Will Love This Beautiful Georgia Blue Ridge Mountain Resort.
I was hosted by the resort to write this review. As always, ratings and opinions are 100 percent mine.
1. Well-equipped accommodations
There are different types of accommodations at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa. I only stayed at the deluxe lodge in a standard room which is spacious and fully furnished with a comfortable king size bed, high quality bedding, a couch and a table with two chairs. One of the rooms had a corner gas block fireplace. I’ve never felt like having a fireplace in my room (I’m from Vero Beach, FL), but with temperatures of 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit and autumn in full force, the warmth and shimmer it gives our room was very lovely.
The bathrooms are spacious with a single sink and large vanity. The rooms have a bath / shower combo, praise for being a bath queen.
Fun fact: There are 102 guest rooms at the lodge. Many have a balcony. King and Queen rooms are ADA accessible.
The Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa has eight cottages with different floor plans (four bedroom types), nestled in a picturesque forest setting. Each cottage has a covered wooden deck and a host of other amenities.

2. Unique accommodations
I was privy to the Equani Spa Suite at Brasstown Valley Resort and I can tell you wow! This upstairs apartment style condo is located above the spa across the street from the resort entrance. There’s a large living room with a 46-inch flat-screen TV and stone gas fireplace with lovely furniture, plus a kitchenette and wet bar, but the star of the property is the romantic bedroom and bathroom.
The sight of the stylish bathroom with a huge whirlpool bathtub that opens onto the bedroom will amaze you. A super cool feature was the “Experience Shower”, which provides a sensual experience with 12-head Swiss shower rods, steam, marine speakers, aromatherapy and LED lights.
The Spa Suite also has a private rooftop deck with lounge chairs overlooking the North Georgia Mountains. There is 825 square feet of living space in this little piece of heaven.

3. Fun resort functions
From the moment you arrive at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa and the doorman takes your bags and parks your car (but you can park yourself), you are transported to a rustic but chic property with all the trimmings. Check-in is a breeze and then you are faced with the dazzling hotel lobby.
This is not a typical hotel lobby, but one with a massive stone fireplace in the middle under oak vaulted ceilings, high windows at the back that look out into the mystical mountains, and seating areas that invite you to linger. It’s also perfect for playing board games or working on one of the puzzles on the tables. My husband couldn’t do without it when walking through the lobby.
Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa has rooms in one wing of the property, conference rooms in the other, and a museum, restaurant, and fitness center on the ground floor.

My favorite about this resort is the glass enclosed indoor pool and hot tub, as well as the connected outdoor pool and hot tub. So if you want to stay warm and cozy inside or step into the night air and take a refreshing swim with the crowd of trees and mountains in the background, the choice is yours.
Outside there is also a hiking trail, swings with mountain views, and a striking waterfall. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the in-house fishing pond and the illuminated tennis courts (plus free equipment). At the same time, you can get active every day in the state-of-the-art fitness center on site and on 15 km of wonderful hiking trails.
If you are looking for a conference hotel or resort, the Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa is more than capable of handling your retreat or special event. I couldn’t believe how many conference rooms and meeting rooms it had until I took the wrong turn and ended up at the resort.

4. Delicious food in the on-site restaurants
The dining room at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa is open for breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, enjoy biscuits and sauce, eggs benedict or a classic breakfast platter with your coffee or espresso. The dining room also offers la carte dishes, yogurt, and oatmeal for those with a lighter appetite.
Reserve your time slot for dinner and prepare to enjoy a delicious dinner from the seasonal menu. I had one of the best steaks of my life for dinner, surprisingly a New York Strip. The steak was seared and cooked to perfection, then drizzled with a creamy brandy sauce. It was great! The steak came with rustic mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband enjoyed the pecan crusted chicken with fig sauce and rice pilaf. Great again.

Save space for a great dessert with around six to seven choices. We shared a piece of peanut butter chocolate cake and it was light but full of rich flavors.
Do you remember saying I have been here before? On this visit, I tried the meatloaf, a typical Brasstown dish, and it is the mother of all meatloaf. If you are a fan of meatloaf you should give it a try.
A second restaurant is Brassies Grill, a sports bar with a television, jukebox, and billiards on the lower level. My husband and I went to dinner and watched the big game. The Brassies menu includes burgers, chicken quesadilla, fish and chips, and other tasty bar-style items. Our service was spectacular and the cocktails mixed with expertise.

5. An excellent golf course
If you’re a golfer, you’ll fall in love with the award-winning 18-hole championship golf course. You not only enjoy a friendly all-level course and excellent greens, but also a fresh dose of mountain air. The holes are in Blue Ridge Mountain vistas and are welcome for amateurs of all abilities and offer full practice opportunities. My husband raved about the course design, the scenery, and the wildlife you can see along the way.
Bed and breakfast golf packages are available.
Fun fact: The Brasstown Valley golf course has been recognized by Golf Digest and Leading Golf Courses of America as one of the top golf courses in Georgia.

6. Picturesque stables and friendly horses
How many golf resorts do you visit that have horseback riding experiences? This one does it – 5 miles of hiking trails. The Stables at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa are picture book in every way. There are also riding programs for beginners to experts in the saddle in the form of one to two-hour guided mountain rides. The riding stables even offer hand-guided rides for children up to the age of six on the riding arena.
On my first visit to Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa, my daughter took her first riding lesson and learned so much. She had a great time and couldn’t wait to go again.
You can plan an individual horse excursion, hay rides or a picnic ride with catering for individual or group excursions. Last but not least, an offer that is offered in the stables includes the newly added ax throwing and archery activities.

7. A dreamy spa
I’ve already expressed my love for swimming pools and whirlpools, but a close runner-up is a visit to the Equani Spa. Oh god, you will be pampered from head to toe by an expert and massaged (or whatever treatment you choose) to kiss your stress goodbye.
I signed up for a deep tissue massage, which is badly needed after the waterfall hikes and lugging around with suitcases. My husband and I ended up having a couples massage which was a first for us. The massage therapists were both skillfully trained and both offered us wonderful treatments. We also spent some time in the relaxation room.
Other treatments available include manicures and pedicures, hydrotherapy, facials, and unique services related to the area’s Cherokee culture.
Pro tip: Pack a swimsuit. You need one for the heated pools and can use the outdoor hot tub at the spa when you go.
