Completes the final phase of its £ 25m transformative investment, Dundonald left has opened 18 luxury lodges on its property, making the Ayrshire venue one of the UK’s most iconic modern golf resorts.

The collection of two, four and six bedroom lodges opened with great success in August and is specially designed for golfers, with bag storage and drying areas, en-suite bathrooms, large living areas and fully equipped kitchens and dining areas.

Darwin escapes has already invested £ 1 million in upgrading Dundonald Links’ Kyle Phillips-designed 18-hole championship course, including the addition of a new halfway house, and more to follow this fall with the upcoming opening of a new clubhouse and 22 hotel rooms.

Ian Ferguson, Club Manager, said: “The opening of the new lodges marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Dundonald Links and we are delighted with the initial feedback we have received from guests.

“It was wonderful to see all of the investment plans come true last year and more to come in the next few months. With the opening of the new clubhouse and hotel rooms, not only will the resort have some of the best golf accommodation in the UK, but it will also be the perfect base for golfers and their families to experience all that this famous part of Scotland has to offer to offer. “

The new two story clubhouse with a distinctive contemporary design will have large balconies overlooking the golf course and panoramic views of the Isle of Arran. Facilities in the clubhouse include a pro shop, restaurant, bar, whiskey tasting room and outdoor terrace, as well as a fitness room, sauna, steam room and extensive changing facilities.

Set in the scenic Ayrshire countryside, the clubhouse is built from natural materials, with local whinstone and a thatched roof. This not only helps it blend in seamlessly with the rugged landscape and surroundings, but also strengthens Dundonald’s long-term commitment to sustainability, conservation and nature.

In addition, the resort will also cut the ribbon in the coming months for a number of new hotel rooms that will be adjacent to the clubhouse for easier access to the restaurant and club facilities.

Already a respected test for bucket list golfers from around the world, Dundonald Links has hosted many major professional golf events since 2008 – including the Ladies’ Scottish Open in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open in the year 2017.
