Northern Michigan Shanty Creek Resort is pleased to announce the addition of Hawk’s Eye Golf Club to its portfolio of golf courses. With the acquisition of Hawk’s Eye, it is the fifth 18-hole championship golf course within Shanty Creek’s nearly 5,500 acre property. With 90 holes in one target, Shanty Creek is now one of the top 10 largest golf resorts in North America.
“The addition of Hawk’s Eye [to our collection of courses] is huge – literally and figuratively, ”said Mike Mooney, director of golf at Shanty Creek. “Having five golf courses within a radius of 13 km increases the attractiveness and prestige for golfers looking for a world-class vacation.”
Since its inception in 2004, Hawk’s Eye has been named “Top Courses in Michigan” three times by Golf Advisor and “Best Public Courses” by Golf Magazine in multiple course rankings and listings.
Pete Bigford, CEO of Shanty Creek added, “In the wake of the coronavirus [the addition of Hawk’s Eye] is proof of the success we are experiencing here at Shanty Creek. “
Over the past year, the resort has expanded and improved many of its amenities, including the new Topgolf Swing Suite golf simulator in The River Bistro, a new fleet of golf carts and the new CoffeeBAR coffee house in the Lakeview Hotel. “With the addition of Hawk’s Eye,” Bigford added, “an exclamation point was added to Shanty Creek’s bid to be Michigan’s best golf resort.”
In addition to Tom Weiskopf’s and Arnold Palmer’s Legend’s top-rated Cedar River Course each year, Shanty Creek now has three of the best golf courses in the state – all in one location. “Add our Shot Mountain and Summit courses and the variety of golf is second to none,” says Mooney.
Antrim County’s four season golf and ski resort is 50 km northeast of Traverse City in Bellaire, in the heart of the Chain of Lakes region. For more information on Shanty Creek golf courses, tee times, or custom golf packages, visit ShantyCreek.com or call (231) 533-2020.
