The Czech Republic was awarded the international “Safe Travels Stamp” by the World Tourism & Travel Council (WTTC) and has now the status of a safe travel destination.
CzechTourism, the National Tourist Board of the Czech Republic, applied for this brand and, together with the contributions of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, Industry Associations and the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, developed a series of preventive safety and hygiene recommendations for individual tourism sectors necessary for obtaining the Safe Travels stamps are binding.
“It is wonderful that the Czech Republic is celebrating World Tourism Day today and has secured the stamp of safe travel. I believe that the Safe Travels brand will bring more foreign tourists to the Czech Republic, ”says Klára Dostálová, Minister for Regional Development.
Companies and associations in the tourism industry can apply for the Safe Travels Stamp from October 1, 2021 using the registration form on the CzechTourism website, where you will also find recommendations and the resulting conditions for the use of the Safe Travels stamp for individual industries (e.g. retail, hotels, restaurants, saunas, swimming pools, golf resorts, cinemas, cable cars, etc.) to comply with by submitting of the form.
The receipt and use of the Safe Travels stamp are free of charge. Compliance with the prescribed health and hygiene standards on the premises of every business or establishment is carried out by an external contractor in the form of mystery shopping.
“Like the Open Forever initiative, the Safe Travels Stamp is based on a system of self-regulation,” says Jan Herget, Director of CzechTourism, adding: “Our two projects will not only help to keep them open forever, but also to attract them foreign tourists. If you look at booking portals today, you will see that some hotels have already embedded the Safe Travels Stamp in their profiles. I therefore believe that securing the stamp will be an important competitive advantage for Czech entrepreneurs. “
the Safe travel Stamp recognizes travel destinations and businesses around the world that have adopted Safe Travels’ global standardized health and hygiene recommendations.
This stamp will help travelers identify countries and companies around the world that have implemented these globally standardized standards for “safe travel”.
