Adidas Cold.Rdy 1/4 Zip Sweater Review
Unfortunately, the sun doesn’t burn on us all the time, so a good golf top or sweater is essential to keep us warm, comfortable and to offer us some protection from wind, rain and changing temperatures.
The best golf tops also look stylish and don’t restrict the entire swing. All of that is hard to get right, but one top that does this is this 1/4 zip sweater from adidas.

How tall am I / how am I built?
I am 1.80 m tall and have a slim stature.
What do I usually wear – is it big / small?
I’m usually a medium in golf tops and sweaters and the model tested was a medium. It turned out to be the perfect size for me.
How did it fit / feel / performance?
The first thing you notice about this sweater is how soft it is. It is made from recycled polyester and French terry, but feels like fleece on the skin.
It feels very thick and cozy even when you put it on, yet it doesn’t feel bulky and heavy. I felt really isolated wearing it on the golf course and I think that’s what it’s designed for.
Visually, the design is simple but modern with the quilted gray section on the upper part of the sweater.
It stands out without looking over the top, which fits my fashion sense perfectly.
As for two minor negatives, for me, I wish the cuffs weren’t so loose and I think the design around the hem of the sweater could be better than the one on the adidas Go-To Primegreen Hoodie I recently tested.
I wish there were more colors too as it is only available in black and navy at the moment.
That being said, these weren’t a massive issue for me and I would definitely buy this top based on all of the other positive things I mentioned above.
Do you notice an additional detail?
A couple of additional details that I noticed were that the top would work very well under a jacket when the temperatures were very cold.
I also liked the aesthetic design overall, because apart from the small, discreet adidas logo on the chest, it doesn’t scream out who made it. For me this is ideal because it means that it is a top that can be used for other activities and sports as well, as opposed to some tops and jackets that are only intended for the golf course.
This versatility limitation annoys me, so I think adidas really did everything right here.
Can you wear it outside of class?
Certainly. I don’t think it would work in the pub or at social events, but it’s perfect for walking, traveling, and keeping warm at home.
What does it look like after washing / do you have to iron it?
After a cold wash, the top is perfectly fine and I let it dry on a hanger according to the instructions.
It can be tumble dried on a low setting, but I haven’t tried it and adidas recommends not ironing it either.
