When the designers at Adidas sought inspiration for a special edition Stan Smith golf shoe to commemorate the Ryder Cup, they didn’t have to look far. As one of the leading milk producers in the US, Whistling Strait’s home state of Wisconsin has no shortage of cows and dairy farms. The team designed a waterproof version of the Stan Smith golf shoe with a cow print on the midsole and a pink outsole. Here are the Ryder Cup-inspired golf shoes from Adidas, which will be available at adidas.com on September 20th.

The shoe will retail for $ 120 and is expected to sell out quickly. Unlike previous versions of the Stan Smith, this shoe lacks a kiltie lace cover – a smart move to allow the cow print to shine without the distraction. In addition to the cow theme, there is a unique cow “endorsement” tag on the tongue and fictional “Dairyland Golf Club” logos on the insole.
In April, before the Masters, Adidas released the first Stan Smith golf shoe in a bold green colorway with a removable white kiltie. The brand also used the launch to promote its Primegreen initiative and promised to use recycled materials in all Stan Smith golf shoes wherever possible. The release was followed shortly afterwards by a waterproof version of the shoe in a simple design, a little more true to the original in the Stan Smith Street shoe look. The mostly white shoe had green details on the heel and traction-covered sole. The cow print Ryder Cup Special Edition Drop is the third iteration of the golf shoe, and more is expected.
