Aetrex Worldwide, Inc. (Aetrex) announced its first athletic partnership with Lexi Thompson, an LPGA championship and Tokyo 2020 Olympic athlete. As a long-time customer, Thompson has used Aetrex Orthotics to improve her performance in training and tournaments.

Thompson was the youngest female golfer to qualify for the US Women’s Open at the age of 12; at 15 she became a professional; and at the age of 19 she won her first major championship. To relieve foot pain from low arches, Thompson decided to use orthotics in 2018. After testing different brands, she chose Aetrex Orthotics for “comfort, support, and alignment,” said Thompson.

“Before using Aetrex orthotics, I had severe foot pain, especially after a long day of training or while playing four rounds of a tournament,” said Thompson. “Three years ago I decided to try a couple of orthotics and found that Aetrex Compete Orthotics worked best for me as they helped level out the low arch of the foot. They immediately made my golf shoes more comfortable and supportive, which helped optimize my power transfer on the field and my overall stability. I can now run over 35 miles a week on a regular basis, as is customary in training or in a multi-round tournament, without any pain. I even wear them in my normal everyday shoes. “

For 75 years, Aetrex “has been dedicated to promoting foot health and comfort solutions and is now recognized as the world’s leading foot orthosis system and approved by the American Podiatric Association for better foot health,” said Aetrex.

“We are delighted to be working with Lexi, a true golf champion who has an incredible background as one of the youngest LPGA golfers to win a major,” said Larry Schwartz, CEO of Aetrex. “We are pleased to be bringing more attention to our orthoses in the golf arena. Lexi has been wearing our orthoses authentically for years to improve her game, so we believe this partnership is a natural next step. “

Aetrex’s Compete product is the “preferred choice of golfers around the world,” according to Aetrex. Aetrex Orthotics are engineered with “proprietary, strategically placed arch support” and feature high-tech, lightweight, high-quality shock-absorbing materials that improve the user’s overall foot health. Designed to treat various causes of foot pain, including plantar fasciitis, flat feet, ball of the foot, and heel pain, Aetrex Orthotics offer biomechanical alignment that keeps the foot closer to the neutral position throughout the gait cycle. Proper alignment helps to minimize overpronation and to reduce stress on the plantar fascia, knees, hips and back, ”continues Aetrex.
