We put the Wilson Staff Eco Stand Bag to the test to see how it compares to competitors
Wilson Staff Eco Stand Bag Review
Not necessarily known for its stand bags, we wanted to put this environmentally friendly offering from Wilson Staff to the test.
Verified by the Global Recycled Standard 4.0, the big story is that it’s made from over 50 recycled plastic water bottles as the brand seeks to do its part to create a more sustainable future. The result is an extremely light bag that weighs just 1.9 kilograms.
The modus operandi of a bag is to comfortably house a golfer’s clubs and it achieves this thanks to a well-padded five-way top. For those carrying the full number of 14, we’re not going to say you will never have a problem with the handles sticking together, but it is no more or less than any of the best golf bags out there.
One of the first things that you notice with any new product is the style. As you can see, there is no airiness or grace in what Wilson Staff has designed. It’s simple and to the point, and there’s a lot to like about it.
When it comes to golf accessories, golf shirts, or most importantly, some of the most comfortable golf shoes, the color scheme is all too often very … busy, shall we say.
With six pockets, this bag offers all the space a golfer could reasonably need in our opinion. There is a full-length clothing pocket, a ball pocket, two accessory pockets, a valuables pocket and a drinks cooler cover.
Even in changeable weather, we never had any trouble finding space for any items of clothing or replacement equipment during the test.
RELATED: Best Golf Stand Bags
That brings us to the wearing experience. Due to its light weight, this bag is ideal for those who refuse to take a trolley with them. We also found the ergonomically shaped double straps very comfortable and distribute the low weight evenly.
Additionally, there is a well-placed hip pad that minimizes any pain we sometimes feel after a long 18-hole slog.
Especially at this time of year it should be mentioned that it is not waterproof. We were caught once and had the ungrateful task of emptying the entire contents of the bag to go through the tedious drying process.
So if you are looking for a new bag to take you through the winter, then one of the best waterproof golf bags is definitely a better choice.
However, as a dry weather bag for golfers who want to carry their clubs for as long as possible, this is a great option.
Umbrella holder, accessory clip and rain cover add the finishing touches, while golfers can go onto the course knowing that they have at least made a contribution to something much bigger.
verdict
A really great option for summer or for people who play golf all year round in a really nice climate. It’s very light and the straps are comfortable, which makes it comfortable to wear. The styling is easy, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and it’s not waterproof. So be careful not to get caught when the sky opens.
