GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colorado – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Empower Retirement, the country’s second largest retirement service provider, 1 is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Mariah Stackhouse on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.

Empower and Stackhouse have signed a multi-year sponsorship deal that begins in their home state of Georgia with the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship 2021 in Atlanta on June 24th. Stackhouse kicked off today at 7:10 p.m. ET with the Empower logo it will wear during the 2021, 2022, and 2023 LPGA Tour seasons.

“Mariah embodies the kind of dedication to the craft that we at Empower admire and strive for,” said Edmund F. Murphy III, President and CEO of Empower. “She often talks about her attention and study of the women in the sport who came before her, and she draws on her stories to inspire and improve them. She described her career as a journey, and we look forward to accompanying her on this journey. ”

Known for her drive and optimism, 27-year-old Stackhouse is a graduate of Stanford University, where she was four times All American. Her golf days began when she was a toddler and her father cut a few clubs for her. At 17, she was the youngest African American to earn a spot in the field at the US Open.

“I’m very excited to be working with Empower Retirement and starting our relationship in my hometown of Atlanta,” said Stackhouse. “Like Empower, I am passionate about conveying to people that they have the chance to be successful at every stage of their life. This is a common value that we share and I am excited to see what lies ahead. ”

The partnership with Stackhouse includes various engagements and social opportunities with Empower customers and partners.

“Mariah’s positive energy and focus on continuous improvement make her a great brand ambassador for Empower. We share these qualities and values, ”said Stephen Jenks, Empower Retirement CMO. “She is a role model for girls and boys who are interested in golf and breaks down barriers with her great ability, style and grace. We look forward to working with Mariah and following the career of this incredible athlete. ”

Sponsorship with Stackhouse expands Empower’s sports marketing initiatives. Empower has invested with NFL teams in markets where Empower has a large concentration of employees and a customer base. Empower also has sponsorship deals with LPGA Tour golfer Cheyenne Knight and PGA Tour golfer Brendan Steele, Webb Simpson, Brendon Todd and Robert Streb. In 2019, Empower signed a 21-year contract with the Denver Broncos for the naming rights to Empower Field at Mile High.

Empower’s expanded sports marketing program complements the company’s national TV advertising campaign launched in 2020 to further build brand awareness in all target group segments.
