The Renee Powell Grant is awarded by the LPGA Foundation and the LPGA Renee Powell Fund. The aim of the Renee Powell Grant is to provide on-demand grants for LPGA * USGA Girls Golf programs that involve black communities as part of their initiatives. The scholarships provide access, tuition, equipment, and additional expenses required to become introduced to the game of golf and keep in touch with the sport. Through these efforts, the LPGA Foundation will advance its commitment to creating an engaging, safe, inclusive and diverse environment to empower, inspire and transform the lives of all women and girls through the game of golf.
The Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is awarded annually by the LPGA Foundation and the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship Fund. Launched in 2006, the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is aimed at attracting a high school graduate from an recognized minority group to full-time study and college golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.
The LPGA Amateurs Women on Par Scholarship was established in 2007 by the EWGA Foundation (now the LPGA Amateur Golf Association) to provide financial support to “non-traditional” female students. These scholarships are for women aged 30 and over who are entering college or university for the first time, or returning to school after an absence to complete their technical / professional, associate or bachelor’s degree. The scholarships are designed to help these women to be “on an equal footing” or on an equal footing with their peers, friends and other women who have had the chance to graduate from college. Since its inception, the scholarship program has helped more than 25 women achieve their dream of graduation.
