The 2021-22 PGA Tour schedule kicks off this week, when the 2021 RSM Classic tees off from the Sea Island Resort in St. Simons Island, Georgia on Thursday, November 18 – and upcoming stars. Adam Scott, Jason Day and Keegan Bradley are some of the big champions to play this week as Robert Streb defends his title. The RSM Classic 2021 winner will receive 500 FedEx Cup points.
Caesars Sportsbook lists Scottie Scheffler as an 11-1 favorite in the latest RSM Classic odds for 2021. The 25-year-old American is followed by Webb Simpson (12-1), Cameron Smith (16-1) and Louis Oosthuizen (22-1) on the PGA quota board. Before including your RSM Classic 2021 picks, be sure to check out the golf predictions and projected leaderboard of the proven computer model at SportsLine.
SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been brand new since the PGA Tour resumed last June. In fact, it’s up nearly $ 10,000 since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.
Earlier this month, the model was everywhere at the 2021 World Wide Technology Championship in Mayakoba, with Viktor Hovland (18-1) winning his third PGA Tour title.
At the 2021 Open Championship, one of McClure’s best bets was that Collin Morikawa won outright, despite being listed as a massive 40-1 long throw. He was also all about Daniel Berger (+220) and Emiliano Grillo (+700) and ended up in the top 20. McClure’s best bets came in at over $ 2,200 in the 2021 Open Championship.
In addition, McClure’s model was featured throughout Jon Rahms (10-1) first major championship win of his career at the 2021 US Open. Rahm was two shots off the lead before the weekend, but the model projected him the winner nonetheless. And at the Masters 2021 McClure Rahms (+250) got a top 5 placement in his best bets as well as Corey Conners (+550) top 10 placement.
The same model also nailed a whopping seven majors over the weekend. Everyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.
Now that the 2021 RSM Classic field is locked, SportsLine simulated the event 10,000 times and the results have been surprising. Head over to SportsLine now to see the planned RSM Classic leaderboard for 2021.
The model’s best RSM Classic predictions for 2021
A big surprise for the model at the RSM Classic 2021: Webb Simpson, a seven-time PGA Tour champion and one of the top favorites, stumbles this week and doesn’t crack the top 5. The 36-year-old struggled earlier this season, finishing T-30 or worse in two of his three starts, including a missed cut at the Shriners Children’s Open.
Simpson also struggled at the RSM Classic last year, finishing T-37 with a score of nine under par. Also, Simpson has been extremely fickle with his approach shots this season, finishing 157th in terms of shots won this week: approaching the green (-.308). He also ranks 156th in strokes won: off-the-tee (-.191) and 103rd on the scoring average (71,001), which doesn’t bode well for his chances for the top spot this week. He’s not a strong pick to win everything and there are far better values in the RSM Classic 2021 field.
Another surprise: Joaquin Niemann puts a strong run on the title with 33: 1 long shot. He has a much better chance of winning anything than his odds suggest, so he’s one of the 2021 RSM Classic picks that you should have anywhere.
Niemann certainly has the game to land at the top of the rankings this week. The 23-year-old secured a top 5 finish at the World Wide Technology Championship earlier this month and is competing in this week’s event, which ranks in the top 50 in a number of key statistical categories, including Average Score (70,317) and the total number of birdies (78). If he hits the ball well this week, he has a good chance of finishing at the top of the leaderboard at the RSM Classic 2021.
How to do RSM Classic picks in 2021
The model also targets five other golfers with odds greater than 25-1 who will make surprising runs, including a long throw that goes higher than 45-1. Anyone who supports these long shots could make it big. You can only see them here.
