Choctaw Nation works with PGA Tour Champions

Choctaw Casinos & Resorts has entered into a four-year partnership with PGA Tour Champions. The Indian casino operator will act as presenting sponsor of the Senior Golf Tour ClubCorp Classic competition.

This year’s inaugural event will be held April 19-24 at Las Colinas Country Club in Texas and will see 78 experienced pro golfers joined by 50 sports and entertainment celebrities.

Confirmed celebs include World Golf Hall of Famer and 72-time Ladies PGA winner Annika Sorenstam, as well as 11-time MLB All-Star pitcher Roger Clemens and comedian Larry the Cable Guy.

Choctaw Casinos & Resorts was selected as the presenting sponsor of the competition due to “its status as a premier venue”.

The tribal operator is owned by the Choctaw Nation and oversees a chain of eight Indian casinos across Oklahoma.

ClubCorp CEO David Pillsbury commented, “Choctaw Casinos & Resorts is known throughout our region for the vital role they play in entertainment, for their superior hospitality and attention to detail, and for their community service.

“They are an ideal partner to launch and grow this spectacular event.”

The tournament benefits the Momentous Institute, a nonprofit organization based in north Texas dedicated to building and restoring social and emotional health.

A group of amateur ClubCorp members will also compete and have a chance to win a seat alongside the pros and celebrities.

“We are excited to partner with ClubCorp Classic and PGA Tour Champions as both organizations share a culture focused on respect, innovation and entertainment,” noted Janie Dillard, senior executive officer of the Choctaw Nation.

“We look forward to engaging with fans and players in a fun and unique way to not only contribute to the growth of the event, but also to maximize the charitable impact for the community.”
