the The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of Nigeria will make history on Friday, November 19, 2021 in its N300 million fundraising effort to revise its operations as a truly professional organization in line with global standards.

The event, a gala night, is scheduled for the Federal Palace Hotels & Casino, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In a statement made available to the press on Wednesday by Dr. Tony Philmoore, the director of the PGA of Nigeria, she revealed that the association’s goal is well over N300 million to pursue their agenda.

The statement reads in part: “The aim of the association is N 300 million and more; the fund aims to enable the association to pursue the Nigeria Tour tournaments in 2022 with at least one tournament per month and a mega-event in which the US PGA would participate globally; European Tour among others in 2022.

“This development, which the PGA of Nigeria believes, would enable it to attract bigger and better sponsorship / partnership deals, despite promising to make honesty, transparency and accountability of the funds generated its buzzwords; The association also believes that with regular and high quality tournaments its players also have the opportunity to improve their games and rankings and to be among the best in the world in golf.

“In addition, amateur golf will be featured on the tour and the youth will focus the tour’s attention on the development of the game.”
