Roster percentages in daily fantasy sports are important, especially in tournaments. In some sports (ie the volatile ones like golf and baseball) the entry percentage is more important than in other, more constant ones (e.g. basketball).
The reason for this is – if a popular basketball player flopped, they probably still kept some production for you unless they left the game early or got scratched.
In baseball, an expensive option can still go 0-for-4 and burn a hole in your lineup. In golf, a missed cut by a player called in from almost half the field can really make all the difference in tournaments.
