Local PGA Tour pro Vaughn Taylor is hosting the 11th annual AJGA tournament

The 2021 Vaughn Taylor Championship will take place October 13-17, 2021 at Mount Vintage Golf Club. This year’s field promises to be one of the toughest fields in any open AJGA event this year and will consist of 78 juniors from around the world.

In the final field there will be 51 boys and 27 girls. Nine of these players are selected
from the 78-person qualification on October 13 with T times from 8:00 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
Thursday (October 14th) is the official training round for the players with the Jim Burton
Memorial Junior-AM tee between 11:15 am and 12:25 pm. Fourteen teams consisting of 3
Sponsors or invited guests are paired with a junior from the tournament field. A win
Team crowned and honors in the clubhouse right after the junior AM
on Thursday.
This year’s event has already set some AJGA premieres. This open event has a completely exempted field.
This is a very rare occurrence. There were 318 boys and 129 girls for the 51
27 places. This is also the largest number of applicants to have entered a tournament in the history of the AJGA.

The Vaughn Taylor Championship kicks off Friday through Sunday (October 15-17) at 8:00 a.m. for the

Awards. Each year the AJGA recognizes tournament committees and individuals who

2017 Golf Executive of the Year for Ray Mundy of Jones Creek Golf Club, 2011 Game Changer.

In the history of the AJGA there is no tournament that has received a total of 8 awards. This adds
to the “premieres” for this event
