New Orleans – First Tee Cassidy Lambert and Logan Batiste will represent First Tee – Greater New Orleans when participating in the PURE Insurance Championship 2021 Impacting the First Tee.
Now in their 18th year, the event brings youngsters from the First Tee Chapters to Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course for the PGA TOUR Champions tournament September 24-26. The annual event, hosted by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, is broadcast nationwide on Golf Channel.
Lambert is a recent graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart and signed up to play college golf at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL this fall. Batiste is a high school junior and has been participating in the First Tee program for over 10 years. Both teens are ACE participants in the First Tee program and were recently selected to compete in the First Tee National Championship, held at Clemson University in South Carolina in June.
During the week, teenagers will apply the life and leadership skills they learned from the First Tee programs during the one-of-a-kind event where they will meet a PGA TOUR Champions player and amateurs from the business world. Batiste and Lambert will fight for the Pro-Junior Team title. They will join 79 other teenagers from First Tee Chapters across the country and for the first time a participant from First Tee – Morocco will be in the field. Entrants were selected by a national jury based on their personal growth and life skills and playing skills learned through First Tee’s programs.
The entire junior field was revealed live on “Golf Today” on the Golf Channel. The reveal included surprises with PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan, PGA TOUR player Ryan Palmer, Korn Ferry Tour player Austin Smotherman and Golf Channel presenters Shane Bacon and Damon Hack, all recorded last month and included in the PURE Insurance Championship Junior aired field announcement.

This year’s PGA TOUR Champions field will include World Golf Hall of Fame members Bernhard Langer, Mark O’Meara, Vijay Singh and three-time PURE Insurance Championship winners Kirk Triplett and Jeff Sluman. Clint Eastwood chairs the PURE Insurance Championship.
The game will be played on Friday and Saturday on the Pebble Beach Golf Links and the Spyglass Hill Golf Course. The final round will be played exclusively on the Pebble Beach Golf Links on Sunday, where 23 First Tee Juniors compete against each other based on their 36-hole performance. The tournament will crown a male and a female First Tee Junior Champion on Sunday.
Over 1,000 First Tee teenagers have participated in the PURE Insurance Championship and had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet, play and be mentored on the field, PGA TOUR Champions players and amateurs.
First Tee is a youth development organization that teaches life skills and helps children and young people to strengthen their character through golf.
