The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of Nigeria is hosting a fundraising gala night on November 19, 2021 at the Federal Palace Hotels & Casino, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The goal of the association is 300 million N and more. The fund aims to enable The Nigeria Tour tournaments to be held in 2022, with at least one tournament per month and a mega-event in which the US PGA will participate worldwide; European Tour among others in 2022.
This development, the PGA of Nigeria believes, would enable it to attract bigger and better sponsorship / partnership deals, just as it promised to make honesty, transparency and accountability its motto from the funds generated.
The association also believes that regular and high quality tournaments give its players the opportunity to improve their games and rankings and be among the best in the golf world.
According to the PGA of Nigeria, amateur golf will be featured in the tour, and youngsters will also draw the tour’s attention to the development of the game.
The highlight of the event will be the inauguration of the former President of Nigeria by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the club’s patron saint and the unveiling of the Nigeria Tour logo.
Dignitaries expected on this occasion include Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governors of all other states, senior statesmen, industrialists and others.
The royal father of the gala night is HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, the Elegushi from Ikateland, Kusenla III.
