Having a variety of viewpoints and data points can be both a curse and a blessing. In this article, I’ll sift through all of the data and give you top picks from all four statistical angles that make up PGA DFS. This week the PGA Tour is taking a break from the huge fields and brutal cut sweats, and there are guaranteed four rounds from all golfers as long as they don’t retreat. There are currently 66 golfers in the field for the WGC-FedEx St. Jude, with the possibility of more to join in the next 24 hours. There’s a whole lot of stats out this week with over 30 years of course history, so there should be plenty to do while making PGA DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel.

PGA DFS this week chooses: WGC-FedEx St. Jude

This group of 66 golfers have played a lot of golf in the past 13 weeks, with only two golfers playing less than five times: Matthew Wolff and Webb Simpson.

Last form

Collin Morikawa’s lackluster first laps cost him a chance for a gold medal and a place on the podium. However, he clinched his fifth top 10 in the past 13 weeks and led the field. Four more have included four top 10 in this dataset: Brooks Koepka, Scottie Scheffler, Paul Casey and Louis Oosthuizen.

Three other golfers in the field made it into the top 10 in at least 50% of their starts: Jordan Spieth, Daniel Berger and Xander Schauffele. Both Spieth and Schauffele finished in the top 25 in five out of six events, behind Morikawa in that division, who is 6-on-7. Patrick Reed also has six top 25s in this dataset, but has done so across nine events. Casey, Oosthuizen, Spieth, Schauffele, Shane Lowry and Brian Harman Everyone is 5 for 6 when they get into the top 25.

Negative current form

Four golfers in the field have not made it into the top 25 at any of their starts in the last 13 weeks: Matt Jones, Brad Kennedy, Ryosuke Kinoshita and Stewart Cink. They are four of 14 names that failed to crack the top 10 in the last 13 weeks. Others in this remarkable camp are Wolff, Simpson, Wilco Nienaber, Billy Horschel and Lee Westwood.

Course history

Although the course history goes back over 30 years, since 2013 at least 11 players will appear in the field for the first time. Lucas glove is probably the most interesting name, and Cameron Davis, Garrick Higgo, KH Lee, Sam Burns and Will Zalatoris will also make their first trips.

Three golfers of the field have found the top 10 four times since 2013: Horschel, Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, who has two wins in seven drives. Köpka, Berger and Ryan Palmer are the only other golfers with more than two top 10 finishes, three each, while seven others have two. Of the golfers with two top 10s, only Palmer and Simpson added another top 25.

Last, Matthew Fitzpatrick has come to Memphis twice since 2013 and was in the top six in both attempts.
