Local golf pro Rob LaBritz has had a pretty good career. He has played eight times in the PGA Championship and has seven professional wins.

Now he is 50 years old and is facing a new challenge: LaBritz is trying to qualify for the PGA Champions Tour, formerly known as the Senior Tour.

He has to play well in three tournaments just to make it to the qualifier in December.

LaBritz says this has been his goal for a while, and he’s trying not to think too much about what’s at stake.

“Just hit one shot at a time,” he said.

“I’ve only focused my whole life on getting one shot because that’s all I can control. I never think of the past, I never think of the future. I don’t worry about anything anymore. I am 50 years old, life is great. I just want to hit good golf shots and if you hit good golf shots you can make it through these Q schools. “
