The Rocket Mortgage Golf Classic will return to the Detroit Country Club and PGA Tour in 2022, albeit at a later date.
The PGA Tour announced its schedule for 2021-22, with the Rocket Mortgage Classic closing the month of July and running from July 25th to 31st.
Cam Davis won the Rocket Mortgage Classic 2021, which ran July 1-4. Davis won a three-player playoff with Troy Merritt and Joaquin Niemann and eventually eliminated Merritt on the fifth playoff hole.
“We’re excited to have another great week of golf next summer when Rocket Mortgage Classic returns to Detroit Golf Club July 25-31, 2022,” said Jason Langwell, Executive Director of Rocket Mortgage Classic, in a press release . “Now in its fourth year, the event has quickly become a summer tradition celebrating many of the world’s best golfers, all of whom compete against each other to support a very valuable cause – ending the digital divide in Detroit. “
The Rocket Mortgage Classic 2022 is the penultimate PGA Tour event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs. After the Rocket Classic, Tour players will move to Greensboro, North Carolina to play in the Wyndham Championship from August 1-7, 2022.
The FedEx Playoffs will begin in Memphis on August 8, 2022 and will end the week of August 22 with the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
The 2021-22 PGA Tour schedule includes 48 events.
