Si-woo Kim sets an unwanted PGA Tour record after shooting a terrible par 3 at the St Jude Invitational 13

South Korean golfer Si-woo Kim had an unforgettable day shooting five balls into the water on his way to an abyssal 13 on a par 3 hole.

Kim, who played in his first tournament since placing 32nd in the men’s golf competition at the Tokyo Olympics, was even tied that day.

Si Woo Kim made a 13 on the 11th par 3 hole @WGCFedEx.

This is the highest score recorded on TPCSouthwind and the highest on a par 3 on TOUR (non-majors) since 1983.

He then moved up to TPC Southwind’s 155-yard 11th hole, which is an island green.

A three-time PGA Tour winner, Kim’s tee sailed to the right of the island’s green.

Kim then went to a drop zone 96 yards from the hole and sent his next four strokes into the water before finally finding the rough on his 11th stroke.

From there, Kim chipped down to one foot on the mug before typing in for an unsightly 13.

According to the PGA Tour, Kim’s 13 marks the highest score recorded on TPC Southwind and is also the highest on the tour, outside of the four majors, since 1983.

Kim responded immediately with a birdie, but carded a double bogey on the 14th par three, where he sent another tee shot into the water.

Unimpressed, Kim banged the next three holes en route to an eight-over-par 78 that left him at 13 that week.

The PGA Tour shared a video showing where each shot landed – and golf fans were quick to comment on the performance – or the lack of it.

Shaun Holden posted that the “boy had a mare,” while Drew Fox succinctly wrote, “Golf is tough.”

Darren Blanchard joked that we should “respect consistency” while Simon Giles joked with a friend that “someone did worse than you today.”

Kieth Smith said he “packed my bags” after that hole, and Sean Guilliams admitted it was “a tough ass game”.

Incredibly, the South Korean managed to regain some of his concentration after this shock with four birdies from the last seven.
